VR Workshop for Kauai Educators

  • 27 Aug 2016
  • 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School (Lihue, HI)

There has been a lot of buzz about virtual reality in education but what is it? And what can it do for our students?

This 3 hour workshop will introduce teachers to Google Cardboard and educational Virtual Reality apps. The first half will help you learn how to take your students on amazing journeys using Google Expeditions, Google Street View and 360 video on YouTube. Attendees will visit Angkor Wat, swim with sharks, go skydiving, fly through outer space and experience many more adventures!

The second part of the workshop will help you learn how to create your own Virtual Reality content and lessons. We will look at iOS and Android apps that help you and your students develop 360 pictures. We will also introduce you to affordable technology like the Ricoh Theta S that allows you to create full HD 360 immersive video.

Each school represented at the workshop will receive a set of 20 Google Cardboard viewers to use in their classroom. A $300 value! You'll also get beta access to Thinglink's new VR Editor, which you'll have during and after the workshop!

The $20 registration fee will be fully refunded in cash back to you during the workshop. The fee is to ensure attendance. The fee will not be refunded if you do not attend the workshop.
