WHO is Rainbow EdCamp for? Educators seeking to support LGBTQ+ students!
WHAT is Rainbow EdCamp? Participant-driven personal and professional development, learning, sharing and networking. To learn more about Edcamp, watch this quick tutorial.
WHERE is Rainbow EdCamp? A huge thank you to Ilima Intermediate School for hosting this event. (91-884 Fort Weaver Road, Ewa Beach, HI 96706)
WHEN is Rainbow EdCamp? April 25, 2020 from 9:00am-1:30pm.
WHY Rainbow EdCamp? As the experts, teachers can support each other by sharing strategies to support our rainbow students. Students who experience LGBTQ-related discrimination are at risk for absenteeism, lower GPAs, lower self-esteem, higher levels of depression, higher risk of substance abuse, higher suicide rates, etc, making it critical that we engage these students.
HOW much does it cost to attend? The Rainbow EdCamp is made possible through the generosity of our sponsors. Sponsors of the event include: HSTE, TFA Prism, GLSEN Hawai'i, and the Hawai'i State Teacher Fellows.
