THE INSTITUTE FOR THEMATIC INSTRUCTION: A Design for 21st Century Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment

Wednesdays, September 17 and October 15, 3:30-5:30pm Check-in, Troubleshooting & Support Sessions

This is a two-week seminar and practicum experience in the design of thematic units with an emphasis upon engaging children in project-based learning. Build a community of learners in your own setting to support 21st century learning by learning with colleagues, observing in thematic classrooms, hearing first-hand from practitioners, asking questions and exploring the challenges & rewards of thematic instruction with individual coaching. The institute includes the developent of a unit draft with outcomes, instructional strategies and assessment tools to take back to your classrom. Work time is incorporated throughout the institute including access to instructors, resources and small group debriefing.
