At the June 2011 annual meeting of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), the Tech Corps Hawaii application to form a Hawaii affiliate of ISTE was approved – and the Hawaii Society for Technology in Education (HSTE) was born!
Like ISTE, HSTE welcomes members from the entire spectrum of education – K-12 and university, public and private – as well as government and business organizations involved with education technology. There are no membership dues to join HSTE during this charter member recruitment phase.
In 2014, Tech Corps Hawaii members approved the name change to Hawaii Society for Technology in Education, making HSTE an official non-profit organization in Hawaii.
The Hawaii Society for Technology in Education (HSTE) is a professional organization for educators and educational leaders focusing on the effective use and integration of technology.
